The science

Copper amino acids, a Sub-500 Active. At the center of this cream is copper lysinate/prolinate: copper bound to two single amino acids, lysine and proline, both central to collagen, skin’s main structural protein. At about 323 Daltons it is a compact amino-acid chelate rather than a long peptide chain, and standard peptides often run past 800 to 1,000 Daltons. Paired with methylglucoside phosphate (about 274 Daltons), both ingredients fall below the commonly cited 500 Dalton guideline; size alone does not establish skin penetration.

An olive-derived base, the Barrier Lock. The cream is emulsified with sorbitan olivate and cetearyl olivate, an olive-derived system chosen for its soft, skin-like texture. It stays on the surface and seals the work in. You feel it as a matte finish that cushions rather than coats.

The supporting cast. Cranberry fruit extract brings naturally occurring antioxidants, joined by bhringraj, moringa seed, neem leaf, witch hazel water and totarol from the podocarpus tree.

Questions

What are copper amino acids?

Copper lysinate/prolinate: copper held by lysine and proline, two amino acids central to collagen, skin’s main structural protein. It is a compact complex of about 323 Daltons, a Sub-500 Active, below the commonly cited 500 Dalton guideline, though molecular weight alone cannot establish skin penetration, and it is the signature ingredient of this cream.

Is it suitable for breakout-prone skin?

For most breakout-prone skin, yes. The oils in the formula are caprylic/capric triglyceride and coco-caprylate, light esters rather than heavy occlusives, on a soft olive-derived base, so it sinks in without a greasy film. If your skin is very reactive, patch test for a few days first.

How soon will I notice a difference?

From the first application. Skin feels softer, cushioned and comfortable straight away, and it looks smoother and more supple with every week of morning and night use.

Does it sit well under sunscreen and makeup?

Yes. It is a medium-weight cream with a soft matte finish, so sunscreen goes on cleanly on top and it sits well under foundation.

Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Your doctor or midwife is the right person to ask about anything you use during pregnancy. For that conversation: the formula contains no retinoids and no salicylic acid, and the full ingredient list is on this page.

What sets this moisturizer apart?

Copper amino acids, a compact complex built from two amino acids central to skin’s structure, set in an olive-derived base that gives the cream its soft, skin-like feel. It hydrates like a rich cream and wears like a light one.

Can I use it with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. It is the last step, so it goes on after whichever serum you use. If you are new to retinol, applying this first and the retinol on top is a comfortable way to start.

What size is it?

1.7 fl oz, or 50 mL.

Where do you ship?

Domi ships within the United States. U.S. orders of $50 or more ship free.

Should I patch test?

Yes, especially if your skin reacts easily. Apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear, leave it twenty-four hours, and check for redness or itching before using it on your face.

Where should I start?

With the formula for the concern you care about most. That is your first domino. Once your skin has settled in, add the formula for your next concern and let each one build on the last.

How do I know which product is right for me?

Our skin type quiz asks six short questions about how your skin behaves and matches you with the formula to start with.
